Pursuant to Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (“KVKK”), Benzer Law Firm, in its capacity as data controller, processes the personal data of its clients and website visitors within the limits prescribed by law and in accordance with its duty of professional secrecy.
A. Data Processed and Method of Collection
Your full name, corporate title, e-mail address, telephone number and preliminary information concerning the subject matter of the dispute, which you submit to us through the contact form, the counsel request interface on our website or by e-mail, are collected electronically by fully or partially automated means.
B. Purposes of Processing and Legal Grounds
- Communicating with you and evaluating your requests for counsel (KVKK Article 5/2-c and f);
- Concluding an attorneyship agreement and establishing the attorney-client relationship (KVKK Article 5/2-c);
- Sending bulletins and case-law analyses to your corporate e-mail address, subject to your consent (Explicit Consent – KVKK Article 5/1).
C. Rights of the Data Subject
Your rights under the KVKK are important to us. Pursuant to Article 11 of the KVKK, you have the right to:
- learn whether your personal data is processed and, if so, request information thereon;
- learn the purpose of the processing of your personal data and whether it is used in accordance with that purpose;
- know the third parties to whom your personal data is transferred, domestically or abroad;
- request the rectification of your personal data if it has been processed incompletely or inaccurately;
- request the erasure or destruction of your personal data under the conditions set out in the KVKK;
- request that any rectification, erasure or destruction be notified to the third parties to whom your personal data has been transferred;
- object to any outcome to your detriment arising from the analysis of your data exclusively by automated systems;
- claim compensation for any damage you suffer as a result of the unlawful processing of your personal data.
Should you submit your requests in writing by e-mail to info@benzerlawfirm.com, your request will be evaluated by Benzer Law Firm and concluded within thirty days at the latest, depending on its nature. As a rule, requests are processed free of charge; however, where the processing entails an additional cost, Benzer Law Firm reserves the right to charge a fee in accordance with the tariff determined by the Personal Data Protection Board.
In order to exercise these rights, you must submit your request to the address stated above by means of a written petition containing your full name and signature; your Turkish identity number if you are a citizen of the Republic of Turkey, or your nationality and passport or identity number if you are a foreign national; and an explanation of the right you wish to exercise.
D. Amendments to this Privacy Notice
This Privacy Notice may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in the applicable legislation or in our practices. Material changes will be announced by publishing the updated notice on our website. We recommend that you visit our website regularly to review the most recent version of this Privacy Notice.
